Eyetech has an opening for an individual who will support bioanalytical and pharmacokinetic activities in all phases of drug development. The incumbent will assist in the planning, conduct, reporting and review of toxicity studies while overseeing the conduct of necropsy, collection of tissues, organ weighing and recording of necropsy observations supporting the communication of sound scientific observations. Position responsibilities will encompass conducting histopathologic evaluations of animal tissues from toxicity studies, writing reports, peer reviewing other studies to include contract lab studies, and presenting findings to management and other scientific bodies using animal models. Incumbent’s participation in investigative studies will drive the identification and optimization of lead compounds. In addition, the individual in this position will be given the opportunity to assume partial responsibility for clinical pharmacology as it pertains to clinical studies integrating toxicology and pharmacology data with the clinical program to support NDA/BLA filings.

Qualifications

• Veterinary or Medical Degree or Ph.D. in Pathology or Pharmacology.
• Either Board Certified or eligible by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists.
• Minimum 5 years experience.
• Experience working in a regulatory toxicology/pharmacology environment is essential.
• Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice Guidelines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills a must.
• Adept at working in a multifunctional environment.
