Eyetech is building a state-of-the-art Research and Preclinical Development facility in Lexington, Massachusetts to accommodate its expanding Research & Development efforts. Eyetech is committed to promoting innovative science in a creative and dynamic environment. In addition to retaining staff scientists, Eyetech actively promotes training through MD and PhD fellowship programs.
This position will support the drug delivery efforts for Macugen, and pipeline initiatives
Summary
- Develop microspheres and polymeric implants for the long term delivery of Macugen
- Develop Macugen analogues and pipline initiatives
- Plan and execute laboratory research
- Maintain broad knowledge of state- of-the-art principles and theories
- Make contributions to scientific literature and conferences
- Use professional concepts to contribute to the development of company concepts and principles and to achieve objectives in creative and effective ways
- Supervise at least one junior scientist
Qualifications
- This position requires a Ph.D. degree with 2-4 years experience or a B.S. /M.S. degree with 8-10 years’ experience in Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry.

Experience with polymeric formulations including microspheres, extrusion, and the development of applicable assays required.

Must be proficient with Reverse Phase HPLC, Size Exclusion Chromatography, UV-VIS, Fluorescence, and IR.

Experience with Circular Dichroism and Scanning Electron Microscopy a plus
